MATTHEW 9:29 - "DO IT YOURSELF AS YOUR FAITH"

MATTHEW 9:29 - "DO IT YOURSELF AS YOUR FAITH"
Matthew, 9
1. Into a boat, Jesus went to the other shore of the lake † and went to their city.
2. Presented to him, a paralytic, lying on a stretcher. Seeing the faith they had, Jesus said to the paralytic, "Take heart, son, your sins are forgiven!"
3. Then some scribes thought, "This man is blaspheming."
4. But Jesus knew their thoughts, said unto them: "Why do you have such evil thoughts in your hearts?
5. Which is easier to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or, 'Arise and walk'?
6. Well, that ye may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins - then said to the paralytic - Arise, take up your mat and go home. "
7. The paralyzed man stood up and went home.
8. Seeing this, the crowd was filled with awe and glorified God who had given such power to humans.
9. In passing, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax office, and told him: "Follow me" He got up and followed him.
10. Then, while he was at table in Matthew's house, many publicans and sinners came and sat at the table with Jesus and his disciples.
11. Pharisees saw this and said to his disciples: "Why your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?"
12. Having heard the question, Jesus said: "There are people who are healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.
13. Go, learn what it means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice. In fact, it's not fair that I have come to call, but sinners. "
14. They approached Jesus and the disciples of John asked: "Why do we fast, we and the Pharisees, while your disciples do not fast?"
15. Jesus answered them, "Do wedding guests can mourn while the bridegroom is with them? Days will come when the bridegroom will be taken. So fast.
16. No one puts a patch of new cloth on an old garment, because the new patch jerking and tearing old cloth is still greater.
17. Nor do they put new wine into old bottles, else the skins burst, the wine is spilled and the bottles perish. But new wine is put into fresh wineskins, and so both are preserved. "
18. While Jesus was speaking, a chief approached, bowed before him and said: "My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay your hand on it, and live."
19. Jesus rose and followed, along with his disciples.
20. Herein, a woman who had suffered from hemorrhages twelve years came up behind him and touched the fringe of his cloak.
21. She thought to herself, "If I can at least touch his cloak, I shall be healed."
22. Jesus turned and seeing her, said: "Courage, daughter! Your faith has healed you. " And the woman was healed from that moment.
23. Arriving at the house of the head, he saw the minstrels and the crowd stirred,
24. and said, "Come out! The girl is not dead but sleeping. " But they mocked him.
25. Away from the crowd, he came in, grabbed her by the hand, and she stood up.
26. And the news of this spread throughout that region.
27. Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, shouting: "Have mercy on us, Son of David!"
28. When he entered the house, the blind men approached him and said to them: "Do you believe that I can do this?" They replied, "Yes, Lord."
29. Then he touched their eyes, saying, "Let it be according to your faith."
30. And their eyes were opened. Jesus warned them: "Take care that no one knows."
31. But they went out and spread his fame throughout that region.
32. While blind people were leaving, people brought to Jesus a man possessed mute.
33. Expelled the devil, the dumb spoke. The crowds were amazed and said, "You never saw anything like it in Israel."
34. The Pharisees, however, said: "It's the prince of demons he casts out demons."
35. Jesus began to go through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and infirmity.
36. Seeing the crowds he was filled with compassion for them because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples:
37. "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.
38. Pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send workers to his harvest! "
